2022: Happy Holidays!

Happy holidays to all our friends and family!

Zsolt rang in the new year with his friend Curtis in Dubai, UAE! They went to see the World Expo 2022. Alissa rang in the New Year in Ohio with good friends (almost, if not more, exciting than Dubai, right?). We were grateful to travel more this year, with trips to visit family and friends. Two major setbacks: we both got COVID in March, and Alissa broke her foot in May. Trust us, Alissa wasn’t trying to qualify for the Olympics or anything, she just stepped on it wrong letting the dog out. Silver lining of broken foot: Zsolt got her one of those kneeling scooters, which came in handy for girls’ night! But be forewarned, those things do not have any shock absorbers.

Alissa learned how to make a butter board (try a cream cheese board for a new twist!) and she also picked up a new hobby: playing the guitar. It’s been a slow but steady learning curve. She also nerded out and completed a new puzzle each month, and we both enjoyed the apples from our apple trees in the backyard.

Our sweet pup, Baker, turned 4 this year! When we first got a badminton set for the backyard, we learned he is OBSESSED with birdies. So for his birthday, we got him a hundred birdies! We’ve never seen a happier pup, and now we have birdies for a lifetime.

We also traveled to Austin, TX with Zsolt’s brother and his family to see the Formula 1 race at the Circuit of the Americas! It was deafening, I mean definitely, a very cool experience!

Work required us to travel a few times each, though Zsolt is still working from home primarily (Alissa has worked from home since before the pandemic). We did reduce our carbon footprint, though, by downsizing to one car, although we are not sure how long that will last!

To round out the year, Alissa joined Zsolt on a work trip to Vienna, Austria. We then traveled for pleasure to Budapest, Hungary (where Zsolt is from) and saw all the major sights.

2022 has been a great year, all said and done. We are very excited to welcome 2023 with even more enthusiasm!

Note: This is my first attempt at blogging, so I'm still learning how to do everything (like change the order of the pictures). Future posts will likely look better :)
